So if anyone sees similar hangs when trying to save a project, make sure that only one copy of your VST plug-in dll file exists and that it is in the same folder as the actual application. So I guess when it came time to save my project in Sonar, it got confused with multiple copies of Kontakt dll files so it didn't know where to go initiate it's file saving process and it just made the app hang and crash. This is no big deal, except for the fact that if you forget to save the Scarbee as a preset, then you'll lose all the hours of work you did when SOnar crashes. So next time I open it, I just have to recall the preset.
I can close it down completely and then Sonar won't crash, but that defeats the whole purpose of being able to have a soft synth plug-in remain open where you don't have to save it.ie any changes made in the plug in would be specific to the opened project.įor now my work-around is saving Scarbee as a new preset and then closing it, before I save my Sonar project.

My crash only happens when trying to save the Sonar project while the Scarbee software is still open in Kontakt 4 (which is the latest 64 bit version, as is my Sonar 8.5). I have sonar's Ram allocation on automatic (but the problem still occurs even if I dedicate a Ram server just to SFG) I have a Asus with a i7 core multiprocessor, 6g Ram, 1.6 Ghz, and plenty of harddrive space. This works but I unfortunately lose any instrument changes specific to the project.anybody familiar with this problem?
I have to completely close out the Scarbee synth, close Kontakt and then save the project. So I tried closing the Kontakt GUI (Scarbee is still open though) and it still crashes. I get that message saying that Sonar is not responding and screen truns to white. When I use it as a VSTi, opened via Kontakt Player everything loads and performs well.until I try to save my project in sonar.
However I recently purchased Scarbee's Funk Guitarist and am having some problems with it in Sonar. Haven't had any major issue with plug ins includin CPU heavy ones such as BFD2. I've been using Sonar 8.5 for about 8 months now and love it.
